Who We Are

Discrete is an Alliance 20-man progression-focused raiding guild on US Tichondrius. We offer a diverse, mature, and friendly community makes us an excellent guild to be a part of. Our philosophy is built upon providing an environment where players can have fun, develop friendships, and succeed as a team. And although we enjoy our time here, don't be mistaken we are very much a competitive raiding team and expectedly we take our craft seriously. All of our long-term strategies and short-term actions are directed towards one purpose and that is to make us even better at what we do. Success is simple, but we don't believe in leaving it up to chance. We believe in equal opportunity raiding for both new and veteran players alike under the guiding principle that raiding positions are earned and not expected. We place high value on dependability, loyalty, and teamwork. Although we strive to maintain a close-knit atmosphere, making new members feel welcomed and part of the team is extremely important to us.

Our Vision

Imagine a raid environment where all members are fully engaged in what they do and go to extreme lengths to fulfill their responsibilities each raid night. They feel connected to the mission and vision of the team because they see a clear connection between what they do and the success of the team. As a result, they see their contributions as meaningful, they look forward to each raid, and they have a sense of pride in what they do and the team they play for. For us, this is a place where we want to raid - a place based on trust and personal responsibility where members are engaged and the outcome is obvious.

Raid Schedule

We raid on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays starting at 8:30 pm and finishing approximately at 11:30 pm Pacific Time (GMT-8). Invites begin promptly at 8:15 pm raid nights.

Loot System

Discrete distributes loot using an impartial, progression directive loot council system. Specifically, we prioritize loot based on how it will yield highest impact and best serve the team as a whole for the purpose of progression. For 10-player raid configurations, loot is awarded using a straightforward priority based random number generated roll off.

Our Expectations

  • Since our focus is progression and because we do not raid 5-6 days a week, dependability is a must! We ask raiders strive to maintain at least a 95% attendance record. Of course we don't expect everyone to be perfect sometimes unavoidable things come up, thats life. However, we do require that you give us ample notice of any foreseen absences that will occur during our raid nights via "Attendance" forum board. Excessive failure to provide notice will result in demotion.
  • All raiders must come prepared with knowledge of any current and upcoming boss encounters. This means reading online boss strategy guides, watching instructional video(s), and looking up any class specific tips. Although we will provide a detailed overview and strategy breakdown before every new boss we encounter, knowledge of the bosses abilities and fight mechanics beforehand will help to reinforce our strategy and reduce our overall learning curve.
  • Prove your commitment to your role. We expect our raiders to always play at their best for each encounter. That means players have to be dynamic, making sure you are using the most optimal spec, glyphs, gems, and enchants for each particular encounter that will yield the highest contribution to the team.
  • Do not waste raid time! That means do not go AFK without notice even during trash. Nothing more disrespectful than making nineteen other people wait on one person without having any indication when he/she will return.
  • When we are fine-tuning a strategy we always want feedback, however it is best to make those suggestions through whispers unless specifically asked. Congesting up our discussions with everyone's thoughts/feedback is counterproductive.

Respect For Others

We all deserve an environment where we are treated with dignity and respect. Discrete is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the full potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to our success as a guild. Therefore, Discrete is devoted to providing an atmosphere that is free of discrimination of all types from abusive, offensive or harassing behavior. Anyone who feels harassed or discriminated against should report the incident to his or her class officer or to the guild master directly. We will investigate all reported instances of questionable behavior. In every instance where inappropriate behavior is found to have occurred, we will take appropriate action.

Building Our Reputation

The success of Discrete is dependent on the reputation we build with the outside community. This is important because it will help create an environment in which Discrete can succeed over the long term. Members and those who represent Discrete are trusted to conduct themselves with honesty and integrity towards all individuals both inside and outside of our guild. We will not tolerate any behavior that goes against our values or would cause embarrassment or reflect negatively on our reputation. We work hard everyday to build a community that our members are proud to be a part of, and we are dedicated to upholding it.
